ISO 12800

For the camera(wo)men out there... the title itself should pop out keywords for you.

Noise

As I find myself looking at forums to hack my camera, I found this very exciting video called Darkness Seeker.

on the video description it says that using programs to hack the GH2 system I am able to make really nice night time B&W footages. By pushing the ISO limit to 12800. Which many camera users would not even choose simply because it would be too grainy.

This video shows off the capabilities of my camera in low light situations. :)

I'll definitely hack my GH-2 in the near future.

I am Bruce Lee

At first when I saw this video I was hyped up because Bruce Lee is just a legendary icon with speed, strength, discipline, wealth, knowledge, philosophy, technique, fame, power all packed into one. I was like yeah lets embrace this past inspiration of ours once again.

Then after this trailer, after reading comments I though... All those footages about Bruce Lee can be found on Youtube anyway..I don't need to hear other celebrities telling me how great he is cause I know he is!!!

So... I don't really see the point of this film now...

Karl interviews Karl

Mr. Lagerfeld  incredibly powerful in the fashion world and is known for his creativity,

He share his thoughts on himself and ask question he wants to answer himself?

This video has done a good job especially overlaying his voice to make the interview appear more natural.

Goldfish Art

If you had not realise I am posting less frequently in my blog nowadays it's mainly cause of two reasons:

1. I'm busier than before.
2. There's less things I find are worth posting.

So when it's up here it's something that pretty good.

My friend shared this on Facebook and I was mind blown, so I had to post this up here.

If anyone of you know how he did this please share.

Recycled Nudie Jeans

Nudie Jeans has came up with a magnificent concept of reusing their worn out jeans to remaking them into a brand new pair of recycled Nudies.

I couldn't steal this video off their website so you'll have to click in here to found out what the hell I'm talking about.

Pina 2011 Trailer

I'm not very familiar with modern dance so I can not comment much but this film is stunning .

All I know is that Pina Bausch (1940-2009) was a very influential modern dancer.

Enjoy.

Moonrise Kingdom

Mr. Wes Anderson is always making films that is out of the mainstream movie genres or blockbusters.

His films is awkward and it doesn't strike people's emotions as systematically as other films you see. It is very intriguing because you don't normally experience a film like his.

Martin Scorsese labeled him as "The Next Martin Scorsese" and have regarded him very highly.

This is definitely one of the films to watch in 2012.

Samuel Hui Daily Essentials

Reading a lot of blogs and websites I've decided to do a shot of my essentials. There are 13 + 1 item that I use basically daily.

From top left to bottom right:

  1. O'Hanlon Mills Backpack which I've been wearing for almost everyday for a year. I bought it online at Urban Outfitters and has been surprisingly durable.
  2. Apple Headphones so I don't get bored on train rides or when I'm walking around alone.
  3. Casio Digital Watch that I wear everyday. Bought it online the same time I bought the backpack. Matches with everything, tells the time and I don't even need to take care of it.
  4. Iphone 2, as long as its slim, takes photos, plays music, receive and dial calls I don't care what phone I'm using.
  5. Rhodia Notepad, bought it in December and I've been carrying it around with me taking video notes for me. The paper quailty is excellent and the pad is very tough.
  6. Charlie's Honest Quencher was recommended to me when I went to Gold Coast with my friends. The Blood Orange is very nice and for the past month I've been drinking the Lemonade like water. I really love the taste especially when chilled.
  7. ASOS Round Sunglasses. Again, bought it online, cheap and I don't need to take care of it.
  8. Muji Pen. Who doesn't love Muji???
  9. Katharine Hammnett Leather Wallet is a second hand item from my brother. I love the flatness of it even when holding all my essential cards, cash and coins.
  10. Typo Sketchbook. Not the great quailty for artwork which is why I can just write and doodle my thoughts without thinking I'm wasting quality paper for painting,
  11. House & Bicycle Key.
  12. Pinwide Lens that I now use more than any lens that I own or borrow. Thin, Lightweight and a whole lotta fun to use.
  13. ONA Camera bag, which I stuff into my backpack or any other bag I carry out. It holds all my camera equipment, pens and my notepads. Also it's waterproof and interior adjustable. No need to worry about my camera when tucked inside.
  14. Panasonic GH2 Camera which I taken this photo with.
Share me your daily essentials!!!

Motion Design

This video is an absolutely perfect example to explain motion design.

It has definitely becoming increasingly popular technique, substituting over animation and cinematography for certain videos.

Please let me know if your good with this art. I need some help.

Press Pause...Play

This is a total inspiration with people who are heading into the direction on any art form. Graphics, Music, Film, etc..

Alot of great ideas, concepts about our world today.

Off The Wall Photo Essay

Vans interviewed a couple of current artists about their careers

LA & NY

The contrasting lifestyle of LA & NY.

Mr. Brainwash 2011

If you guys have seen my previous posts on graffiti you would probably not like this guy... Mr. Brainwash.

But sometimes things happen for a reason I guess... and he's on top of it now, so lucky or not... he's now an artist. Judging from the video i do like this exhibition though.

Why?

This video talks about "why" extreme sport athletes do what they do. Risking their lives for a shot of adrenaline in their veins or to conquer their mind and body.

This entire video is shot by the brand new Nikon D4

In my view though, the "why" is explaining why Nikon D4 over other SLR cameras for video. It is so damn crisp. Just check out the slow motion on full screen at the 05:05 mark and that might've just settled the argument. Hands down.

Nike Marketing

One of the techniques that Nike push sales is to pack many influentials into one video to show you the impact of their brand towards icon in our generation.

Leading this is Kobe Bryant our generation's Michael Jordan.

Follow the Kobe system...what?

New Kid on Block

This 7 year old Asher Bradshaw has got talent.

What was I doing when I was 7??? What am I doing now??? lol

Fixie Jam Session

Their rides are like a BMX x Fix gear unlike your regular road bikes but their skills are still sick.

Check it out!

Great story-telling.

Gave me goosebumps.

I guess chasing girls doesn't get easier with age.

Camera Strap

All the effort needed to produce a hand-made camera strap.

Do I really need such quailty neck strap?

Japanese Customs

The story behind the man who customises Lamborghini as his career. It just really shows that if you have a dream you can chase it. Not matter how ridiculous it may sound to others there's always going to be a market for it. The only thing that matters is quality.

Facebook Interaction

I'm trying to link this page to Facebook so please click onto this website and like it so that you can share this with your friends and they can read this blog more conveniently  on a regular basis.

Shots with Pinwide

It is difficult to work with a f/96+ it is a really hard to control lens. It does not give you pin point focus and a lot of times you need to adjust your shutter speed & ISO.

You really need to be aware of light for this lens because it basically cannot work without the sun's ray. It does however, gives you a very film like mood to your pictures. Not that you would what it in every shot but it is a fun lens to play with for just $40.

Try setting up your tripod in the day for a long exposure shot or even bring it along to day time events and shoot some nostalgic photos with friends.

I can hardly shoot with my ISO 12800 at night with so much noise that it's like a 30 year old processed film.
